Sometimes people, places, things, and events seen by the physical eyes can be distorted and untrue; therefore, leading us on the wrong path of life. 

Fear prevents us from allowing God to lead and shape our lives. The flesh has the natural instinct for self preservation and fear nurtures and feeds this concept. This is why fear is a direct opponent of faith because it encourages us to focus or rely on our own understanding (Galatians 5:17-18). Because of the fear of situations worsening in our lives or the uncertainty of the outcome of a situation; we have a tendency to trust in our own abilities.
